Life Coach Dorset

My private practice is based in Milborne St Andrew which is a short drive from Blandford and Dorchester and I work alongside a team of counsellors at Carlton Academy in Poole as a counsellor as well as a health & life coach.

It is important to me, in all aspects of my life, that I can be myself and to encourage others to be themselves. To be able to express myself and allow others to in a healthy, respectful way. I believe that each of us is able to create a way of living that has personal meaning, is rewarding, empowering, and loving in nature.

In 2010, I retrained after being made redundant from a job that I had fallen out of love with years before, falling in love with psychology, in particular, Carl Roger’s person-centered approach. Over time, adding positive psychology, existential theory, and mindfulness to my studies – becoming a Health Coach (working with people with longterm health conditions and the first-ever CPCAB qualified Life Coach then adding counselling to my work.

But before the books, and more importantly in many ways, I decided to be a therapist because I get that there is a good, bad and ugly side to life but we can do more than just survive in it – we can thrive and be happy despite life’s challenges.

I will listen to your story with fresh ears, be honest with you, and together we will work out what is best for you.

How I work as a life, health coach and counsellor

Our sessions can be face to face or via Skype or telephone.

I offer a free, no-obligation, half-hour telephone session so that you can ask any questions and get to know me a little better.

It’s a chance to find out if my life coaching and counselling style suits you before deciding to work with me.

The number of sessions depends on your personal needs and the level of support you want. There is no minimum, maximum, or preset package. Coaching and counselling is about you and what you want, not what I think is best for you so we can talk about the number of sessions you had in mind when we chat and then review and adjust if need be, during our time together.

I may challenge you to overcome limiting beliefs and help you understand yourself better but never judge or pressure you.

I have a creative working style that allows for individual expression to be nurtured and believe everyone can reach their full potential. Often exploring visual images, metaphors, colours and body awareness to capture and express the whole essence of how you feel. This allows complex feelings, and situations to be explored safely but effectively.

My commitment is to support you to overcome emotional distress and/or to achieve your aspirations.

I volunteer one day a week, counselling young adults 16+ but I mainly work in private practice which gives me and my clients the freedom to choose the number and frequency of sessions.

I work regularly in Milborne St Andrew, Wimborne, Poole, and Weymouth therefore I can arrange counselling, life, or health coaching somewhere more convenient to you such as Blandford, and Dorchester in Dorset.

I am also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance, and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my registered governing body.
